Logo - Michail Yasonik

I was asked to design a logo for a friend in order to aid his personal branding. Because the client plans to enter a multi-disciplinary field (one that incorporates elements of business management, web design, and programming, among other things) the logo had to be designed as an open-ended statement of professionalism and simplicity. I decided to base the design off of his signature in order to create something that is both unique and interesting.
Handwriting and signature samples were taken.
Of the many pages of signatures, a few were selected to use as reference for the final logo.
Sketches of the logo were created to get a sense of the final design.
The letterforms were re-created and stylized in Illustrator.
A bounding square was created, both to balance out the shape and fit better with the client's existing website (which was specifically requested to remain unmodified).
The main color in the client's branding (as defined by the existing web content) is Pantone 17-1463.
The final logo.
